Sloppy Seconds and "Scalito"
Drudge headlines often seem to scream "outrage" about some question asked by a reporter. I (surprise) usually do not find myself in agreement with Drudge. But I was taken aback by reporter John Roberts' comments during a press conference with White House Press Secretary:
John Roberts: “So, Scott, you said that -- or the President said, repeatedly, that Harriet Miers was the best person for the job. So does that mean that Alito is sloppy seconds, or what?”
This sounds more like Dan Pollock on D-issues than a serious reporter asking a question. I don't think that Roberts' 'apology' was underwhelming, apologizing to those offended, even though he meant to cause none.

Also, Drudge earlier had a headline (I cannot find it anymore) that said 'some' think that "Scalito" is an offensive nickname for Alito. When I read that particular drudge flash (if anyone has the link, send it to me), it said that a Republican operative said he found it offensive. I'm interested to hear about reasons why 'Scalito' is offensive. Oops, must run for dinner....
