Rudy Giuliani: Don't Blame The Bush Administration, Blame The Troops!

"No matter how you try to blame it on the president, the actual responsibility for it really would be for the troops that were there. Did they search carefully enough?" -Giuliani 10/28/04

What models of leadership these republicans have been. Unlike the democrats, they know that responsibility always belongs at the bottom (and tax breaks at the top). What makes the statement particularly gauling is that the troops on the ground weren't even ordered to search the Al Qaqaa site for weapons, as far as anyone knows.

The Bush Administration's been a little smarter, just claiming lack of knowledge of what really happens. But ignorance is not a good excuse.

Even if the weapons had been moved in advance, as they claim MAY have happened, it still remains true that they failed to give orders to search the site, opening up the possibility that the weapons could be taken if they were there. If you make a mistake and luckily there are no negative consequences, it's still a mistake.
